The software comes with a focus mainly on photos, which effectively makes it a photo scanner unless you purchase (or already have) additional programs. In that context, the optical resolution of 2,400 pixels-per-inch (PPI) is redundant — far beyond anything you need to scan a photo, unless you plan to zoom in on a small part of the photo.
In addition to the Twain and WIA drivers, which allow the scanner to work with virtually any Windows software that includes scan commands, the only program bundled with LiDE 100 is ArcSoft Photo Studio 5.5 and the Canon MP Navigator EX scanning utility. MP Navigator EX includes an optical character identifier (OCR) feature that can convert scanned text documents into searchable PDF files, but it’s far from a full-featured OCR program. The main purpose of this utility is to scan and send the results to various destinations from files to email attachments. It also offers a series of photo-related features to enhance scanned photos.

Canon LiDE 100 Uninstall Procedures :
If needed, you can uninstall this program using the Control Panel.
Note :
The steps below are for Windows 7. This procedure may be different for other OSes.
1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel, and then, under Programs click Uninstall a Program.
2. A page will open with a list of installed programs. Double click on the program that you want to uninstall.
3. Click “Yes” then “OK”, this will complete the uninstallation process.
